Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne has become one of the first rush of customers for the new wind turbine being sold by B & Q.
Chris visited the Boyatt Wood B & Q to place his order for the Windsave turbine, and is pictured here with staff at the DIY chain.
Chris commented: "I am delighted that B & Q, as a local company with a successful national profile, has launched its new green range of products and even more pleased that the Windsave turbine is now B & Q's best selling item measured by value.
"B & Q have checked out our home in Dutton Lane to ensure there is enough wind to make installation worthwhile - local wind conditions vary a lot depending on nearby buildings and the lie of the land - and we have now asked for planning permission.
"I am particularly pleased that Eastleigh borough council refunds the £135 planning application fee for wind turbines, and that there is a further grant of £500 available if you already have cavity wall insulation. The overall cost is therefore just a little more than £1000.
