Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne visited Eastleigh sorting office early today to cheer the postmen and postwomen who have been handling record amounts of mail and packets this Christmas.
Mr Huhne paid his seasonal visit to the sorting office in Goodwood Road to thank the postal workers for the "herculean" efforts they put in to deliver the mail at this time of year.
Chris Huhne thanked the postal workers for their 'herculean' effort.
"Having a card or a present through the post means so much to so many Eastleigh residents whose relatives live far away that we often tend to forget all the dedicated hard work that goes into making it happen" said Chris.,
"The postmen and postwomen do a fantastic job up early both sorting and delivering the mail before Christmas, and trying to make sure that every last letter, card and packet reaches the right destination on time to make someone' s Christmas".
Chris Huhne is pictured here with Paul Cahill who sorts and delivers the post to Mr Huhne's constituency office in Leigh Road. "And a particular big thank you to Paul who has to handle all our constituency mail, which is going up in leaps and bounds."
