Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne presented the Training Quality Standard award to Eastleigh College's vice-chair of governors, Margaret Kyrle, in recognition of the College's outstanding training performance.
Mr Huhne is pictured here with Mrs Kyrle receiving a framed certificate to celebrate the award in recognition of the quality training provided by the college.
The Training Quality Standard is the end of an assessment and certification process designed to recognise and celebrate the best organisations delivering training to employers.
"It is tough getting the Training Quality Standard, and the College should be proud to have achieved so much in providing such useful training for many thousands of people - young and old - in the local workforce" said Mr Huhne.
"This certificate is the guarantee to employers that they will not be wasting their money, and to employees that they will not be wasting their time. Skills and training are the bedrock of a modern competitive economy. We have to compete on brains as we can never undercut the Chinese or Indians on brawn" said Mr Huhne.
