Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne wants a local charity or organisation to win the National Centre for Social Justice awards.
The awards have £50,000 of prizes to recognise, reward and celebrate grassroots organisations across the UK doing exceptional work in tackling poverty and advancing social justice.
"We are blessed to have many local people who run organisations that are tireless in helping those in need from pensioner visits, social clubs, youth contact like the street pastors scheme through to support for young families such as Home-Start" said Chris.
"The fantastic work done in our communities by so many selfless people deserves to be celebrated, and I hope organisations will think about nomination."
The only requirement is to write 500 words outlining how your organisation makes an exceptional contribution to tackling poverty. Further details can be found at www.centreforsocialjustice.org.uk/awards.
