Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne marked world book day - designed to promote reading and enjoyment of books - by visiting Cherbourg primary school to read a favourite story to the children.
Mr Huhne, pictured here reading to the children, chose Dr Seuss' "Yertle the Turtle" as his favourite children's story. "It's got everything - drama, injustice, and ultimately the big headed one gets his come-uppance. Very appropriate for politics!" said Mr Huhne.
"World Book day is a great initiative to encourage the enjoyment of books particularly among young people. If you learn young what fun there is to be had in reading, it is something that will never leave you through life" said Mr Huhne.
