Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne is backing the Autism Diagnostic Research Centre, a not-for-profit spin-out company owned by the University of Southampton, as a new and effective way of diagnosing and assessing adults suspected of having an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Mr Huhne is pictured here with Pat Abbott, the clinic manager, Dr Tony Brown, clinical psychologist, and chairman James Morgan, holding the typical reports prepared on patients that go into substantially more detail than normal.
"This is an interesting and important initiative that diagnoses the wide variety of conditions on the autism spectrum, and provides the individual, their referrer and others who deal with them with detailed information that they can turn into practical help" said Mr Huhne.
"There is an inter-disciplinary team approach to diagnosis, using different specialisms as appropriate, and each assessment is individually tailored to the needs of the patient" said Mr Huhne.
