HUHNE CALLS FOR IMPROVED ACCESS TO DRAFT LAWS

House of Commons PortcullisEastleigh MP Chris Huhne has called for improved public access to bills - draft laws - as they go through both Houses of Parliament.

Mr Huhne has backed a Commons motion which states that bills should be published in a new electronic format so that they can be accessed as easily and as early as possible by the public.

Mr Huhne said, "By improving accessibility to bills, the public will be better placed to scrutinise draft legislation which can only help the democratic process and improve the final result.

"Everyone affected by laws ought to be able to see them being made".
