Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne has praised pub and beer gardens as a traditional part of the English summer in a Commons motion backing the local pub trade.
Chris has signed a motion recognising the contribution that a great British pub makes to enjoying a great British summer.
Early Day Motion 1967 highlights visiting pubs and beer gardens as a treasured national pastime, and hopes that some good weather of the summer will bring in some much needed trade and income for many pubs.
Commenting on the motion, Chris Huhne said: "Enjoying a drink in the sun of a lovely beer garden is one of the great joys of the English summer.
"Pubs in Hampshire have been hit hard by the recession, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that good weather brings them in a much needed boost in trade over the coming months. Bottoms up!"
