The winning river float in the Bishopstoke Carnival was a model of the Titanic built by three local children who won the contest for the second year running.
The model - pictured here with the brother and sisters team of makers Abbey, aged 12, Callum, aged 10, and Jessica Carter, aged 6, and judge Chris Huhne MP - is made of papier mache floating on plastic.
"We started work on the boat on the Monday before the carnival" said Jessica Carter, the youngest of the family who live in Bishopstoke.
Asked if the Daily Echo made the best papier mache, mum Naomi Carter said that they preferred the yellow pages as it appeared to have better floating properties.
The runner-up in the fiercely contested category, which is judged on Bishopstoke Beach opposite the Angler's Inn on Riverside, was Ghosthill Castle.
Chris Huhne said: "This is one of the more unusual events at the carnival, which was another great success this year with record attendance and so many stands that some applicants had to be turned away.
"The success is a real testimony to the community spirit in Bishopstoke, where everyone pulls together to make it a great day."
