Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne joined pupils at Hamble primary school to celebrate the tenth annual world school milk day with a sip or two of the white stuff.
Chris said: "School milk is great for growing kids. Every child under the age of five is entitled to a third of a pint of free school milk every day, and there is no doubt about the health benefits according to recent research.
"School milk also tastes a lot better than it did during my school days when I think the teachers must have added blackboard chalk dust" joked Chris.
"I hope parents will make sure that their child is getting their school milk. It helps a balanced and nutritious diet".
More than 10,000 schools now get free or subsidised school milk, and Cool Milk is promoting free school milk across the rest of the country.
Thirty countries celebrate World School Milk Day, which is sponsored by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation.
