Eastleigh's civic Remembrance Sunday, which takes place at the Eastleigh Recreation ground, was among the best attended ever held in the town, according to Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne.
Mr Huhne was part of the civic party for the annual parade and service to mark those who fell in both world wars and subsequent conflicts to defend British freedoms and our way of life.
Chris Huhne said: "I'm delighted that Remembrance Sunday, far from fading away with the ageing of those who were involved in both world wars, is proving to be a living event that engages the young as well as the middle-aged and elderly. This was the best-attended Remembrance Sunday that I can remember.
"Our community has an enormous amount of which to be proud given the record of sacrifice in both world wars. It is the least that we can do today to mark the extraordinary efforts that our sailors, soldiers and airmen put into the defence of our freedoms."
