EASTLEIGH IN GOOD CHEER DESPITE WET CHRISTMAS ILLUMINATIONS

Chris at the head of the parade with the Mayor and Father ChristmasEastleigh MP Chris Huhne said that the Eastleigh Christmas parade and illuminations showed the town in good cheer despite all the efforts of the rain to dampen spirits.

Mr Huhne accompanied Mayor Pam Holden-Brown and a very damp Santa Claus (alias Cllr Chris Thomas) at the head of the Eastleigh procession that included marching bands and floats.

Mr Huhne said: "Professional estimates suggest that more than 5,000 people attended the parade, turning on of the lights, and the fantastic fireworks display. Clearly no-one was going to be put off by a bit of rain!"
