Eastleigh MP Chris Huhne lent a hand to Solent Youth Action in their work to put a smile on the faces of third world children.
The Eastleigh-based group from all over south Hampshire is turning more than 350 T-shirts into operation gowns as part of the Blue Peter campaign to help operations in developing countries to repair cleft palates and cleft lips.
The campaign to help third world charity Operation Smile send teams of volunteer medical professionals to the poorest countries in the world to help afflicted children, many of whom are shunned and subjected to abuse.
Chris is pictured here joining with the youth volunteer activists Rosy Butler and Anna Allan. Along with many keen supporters at a session at their Romsey Road HQ in Eastleigh, they helped turn out a load more T-shirts and gowns..
Rosy Butler said: "We are aiming to make more than 350 garments, and are grateful for the materials donated by Hobbycraft and lots of great support from across the community."
Chris Huhne said: "Solent Youth Action makes a difference because it gets young people involved in community and charitable work which helps others. We are lucky to have such a hard-working group of young people".
