Eastleigh Lib Dem response to Liz Truss' resignation

Responding to Liz Truss's resignation as Prime Minister, Liz Jarvis, Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Eastleigh, commented:

"Six weeks of total chaos and Liz Truss has resigned with no apology to the country for the mess she created. Meanwhile people across Eastleigh worried sick about rising food and fuel bills have to endure more uncertainty while the Conservative government continues to fight like rats in a sack.

"People on doorsteps across Eastleigh have told me how fed up they are with a Government more interested in its own preservation than putting the needs of the country first. They have had enough of this shambles. We deserve better than this incompetent and chaotic government, which has sent mortgages spiraling while our NHS services are stretched to breaking point.

“This country needs a general election and local Conservative MPs now need to do their patriotic duty. Conservative MPs cannot prop up more chaotic Governments.
