Liz Jarvis is the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Eastleigh and an Eastleigh Borough Councillor. She is a mum of one and lives in Eastleigh. Liz is also a journalist, and has volunteered as a trustee for a charity supporting families coping with challenging circumstances, and as a local school governor.
After 12 years of this chaotic Conservative government, Eastleigh deserves a fresh start
She was raised in a Conservative/Labour household where politics was debated at every meal, and was taken on her first march as a toddler. Liz attended a large comprehensive school and was the first person in her family to go to university. She started her career in journalism on national newspapers, and had a national newspaper column by the time she was 25. She has edited three magazines and numerous websites, and worked closely with the Southampton cruise industry for over eight years. She has written in a freelance capacity for a variety of newspapers and magazines.
Liz will be a champion on issues that matter to people in our area. Things just aren't going to plan in our country at the moment. We need someone in Westminster who will:
Liz provides a credible and strong alternative for those who feel this Conservative government does not represent their values or their interests.
“The people of Eastleigh deserve so much better than this shambolic Conservative government,” Liz says. “I will fight to ensure that everyone in our community can have the life they deserve.”
Liz will always put her constituents and country before party politics, standing up for the NHS, local people and local businesses. Liz connects with people across the political spectrum to encourage honest, sincere and straight talking politics with decency, transparency and compassion at the heart of her agenda.
“When I am out and about speaking to people in Eastleigh I hear the same message time and again – people feel let down by the Conservatives, who have taken their vote for granted. I will work tirelessly to give our community a real alternative and a better future.”
Liz will be the hard-working MP that Eastleigh can be proud of.
