Liz Jarvis Calls for New Post Office Site in Bishopstoke

Liz Jarvis, Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Eastleigh, is calling on the Post Office to find a new Bishopstoke location as soon as possible after the counter at Bestway on Spring Lane was closed with little notice. 

Post office sites have closed in huge numbers for decades. A 2021 Commons report found that the total number of post offices across the UK had nearly halved since 1982. As well as postal services, post offices offer access to banking services and cash, and certain government services - many of these services are not easily accessible at home to members of Eastleigh's community. 

Liz Jarvis said: “I know many residents are concerned about the loss of their local post office counter, and I am pushing for a public consultation on any new location.”
